Rotary evaporator troubleshooting
Rotary evaporator/rotary evaporator is a commonly used laboratory equipment composed of motors, distillation flasks, heating pots, condenser tubes and other parts. It is mainly used for continuous distillation of volatile solvents under reduced pressure. It is often used in chemistry, Chemical, biological medicine and other fields. The instrument is mainly controlled electronically, and it may malfunction during use, which will affect the performance of the product and the results of the experiment. Therefore, the operator needs to master the solutions to common failures of the rotary evaporator.
Rotary evaporator troubleshooting:
1. After the instrument is connected to the power switch, the power indicator does not light up: if the power cord is not connected or connected incorrectly, just connect the power cord; if the power switch or circuit board fails, stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer. Or contact professional maintenance personnel.
2. The motor does not turn: If the indicator light of the electric control box is on, check whether the connection of the external plug in the electric box is loose or disconnected, and then plug the plug again and connect the broken wire; if the indicator or digital display of the electric control box does not light up , Update the fuse or confirm that there is no abnormality in the power supply; if the inverter displays "OU" due to high frequency interference, just troubleshoot the fault according to the inverter manual.
3. The bath does not heat: the green indicator light in the temperature controller is on but does not heat, and the temperature controller displays "over" or "000", which can be solved by changing the heating ring, solid state relay or relay board, and temperature controller. Wire the probe or update the probe to solve it.
4. Vacuum cannot be pumped: It is possible that there is solvent in the container and is limited by the saturated ejector pressure. The solvent needs to be emptied, and the bottle is empty and try again; the capacity of the vacuum oil pump is reduced, the oil (water) needs to be changed, and the vacuum oil pump must be cleaned Overhaul; the vacuum hose connector is loose and the vacuum meter leaks. It needs to be inspected and eliminated step by step along the vacuum pipeline; if there is debris in the discharge valve and pressure control valve, clean it; the glass wool sandwich panel is damaged, update or repair That's it.
5. Rotary evaporator/rotary evaporator noise or noise: It may be the seal ring is worn out, just replace the new seal ring; it may also be the internal gear wear, the driving part is lack of oil, the motor is malfunctioning, in this case, stop immediately To use, contact the manufacturer or repairer.
6. The pressure leak and the vacuum is not good: it may be the glass rotating shaft is worn, the sealing ring is worn, the sealing ring is not installed properly, the sealing gasket of the decompression nozzle is aging, the vacuum hose is aging, just update the problematic parts.
7. Abnormal lifting: The circuit board or the motor may be faulty, or the sliding bearing may be worn or rusted. For this, the operator should immediately stop the operation of the instrument and contact professional maintenance personnel.
