Short Path Distillate


Short path distillate is a newer separation technique that can solve a large number of problems that cannot be solved by traditional distillation techniques. Short path ditilation unit is a special liquid-liquid separation technique that can be performed under extremely high vacuum. It can separate liquids at temperatures well below their boiling points, based on the mean free path of molecular motion. It is especially suitable for the separation of high boiling point, heat sensitive and easily oxidized systems.


Since short path distillate has the characteristics of distillation temperature lower than the boiling point of the material, low distillation pressure, short heating time, and high resolution, it can greatly reduce the technical difficulty of separating high-boiling point materials and heat-sensitive materials, and protect the characteristic quality of heat-sensitive materials. Molecular distillation equipment is specially used for the extraction of natural health products, which can get rid of the limitation of chemical treatment methods and truly maintain the natural characteristics.

1. Short path distillate is a special liquid separation technology. It is different from the traditional distillation that relies on the separation principle of boiling point difference, but relies on the difference in the mean free path of molecular motion of different substances to achieve separation.

2. When the liquid mixture flows along the heating plate and is heated, light and heavy molecules will escape from the surface of the liquid and enter the gas phase. Molecules of different substances travel different distances after escaping from the liquid surface due to the different free paths of light and heavy molecules. If the condensing plate is set up properly, light molecules will condense and drain when they reach the condensing plate, while heavy molecules will not drain along the mixed liquid when reaching the condensing plate. In this way, the purpose of material separation is achieved.

3. Short path distillate equipment is also suitable for short path distillate. Molecular flow flows directly from the heating surface to the condenser surface.

4. Generally speaking, the liquid phase diffusion rate is the main factor controlling the molecular distillation rate, so the thickness of the liquid layer should be reduced as much as possible to strengthen the flow of the liquid layer.

5. Free evaporation of molecules on the surface of the liquid layer.

6. The evaporation rate increases with the increase of temperature, but the separation factor sometimes decreases with the increase of temperature. Therefore, an economical and reasonable distillation temperature should be selected under the premise of ensuring the thermal stability of the processed material.

7. Molecules fly from the evaporating surface to the condensing surface.

8. During the flight from the evaporating surface to the condensing surface, the vapor molecules may collide with each other or with the air molecules remaining between the two sides.

9. Since evaporated molecules are much heavier than air molecules, and most molecules move in the same direction, their own collisions have little effect on the direction of flight and the speed of evaporation. The number of residual gas molecules is the main factor affecting the direction of flight and the rate of evaporation.

6. No boiling bubbling. Short path distillate is evaporation on the surface of a liquid. It is done at low pressure. There is no dissolved air in the liquid. Therefore, the whole liquid cannot be boiled without bubbling during distillation.

7. Provide a variety of customer specifications for your choice, suitable for small test experiments and test experiments for customers. If you need a larger evaporation zone specification, it can be customized according to customer requirements.

8. Each interface is sealed with a fluorescent plastic pad, and the air is good. If the customer needs corrosion resistance, four fluorine materials can be used instead.
